Handango to Offer First Google Android Applications

18 October 2008 No Comment

Handango Inc. the well known smartphone application developer has announced that they will become the first retailer to offer both free and paid applications for Google Android based phones.

“Handango has always offered its customers the widest variety of smartphone apps available on the market and on all major operating systems,” says Bill Stone, CEO of Handango.

“Handango is now offering developers the opportunity to sell the paid apps they create for the Android platform as well as offer any free apps when the first Android device launches. Customers can purchase apps via the Web and then download them to their device.”

So it appears if you want to use Handango to distribute your free or paid Android applications you will be able to add your applications directly to your Handango developer account. You will have the option of giving the application away free, selling the application for a one-time fee, or selling the application for a monthly, quarterly or annual subscription fee.

Handango has announced the following list of applications that will be available:

  • Accutracking
  • EzQuote
  • FitSync
  • FotMob
  • GoogHelper
  • Monopoly: Here & Now
  • Par 72 Golf II
  • Tetris
  • The Weather Channel for Android
  • Tipper
  • ShopSavvy
  • Vegas Pool Sharks
  • Voice on the Go
  • Applications hosted with Handango can be downloaded from the companies website, partner websites, SD cards and Handango’s on-device catalog. Handango has partnered with many mobile industry companies including Microsoft, AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Alltel, Nokia, Research In Motion, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, AOL and The Carphone Warehouse.

We look forward to getting our hands on the applications listed above, and will provide individual reviews of each one here on AndroidTweaks.net as soon as we have them.
